The Reroot project

The Reroot Project wasn’t born from strategy—it came from restlessness.
Too many people are stuck in screens and routines, disconnected from the land and themselves. I started this because I needed to get out—and I knew others did too. Out of the city. Off the grid. It’s about walking away from the noise. The grind. The fake connection. Back into something real.

My wife and I were born and raised in New Mexico, with deep roots in Zuni, Mexican, Spanish, and Celtic ancestry. This land has shaped who we are—and now we help others reconnect with nature, culture, and the forgotten parts of themselves.

This isn’t tourism. It’s rewilding.
We move slow. We listen. We remember.

Why a private guide?
Because going alone only gets you so far. We bring the path, the stories, and the instinct to lead you deeper.

Let’s rekonnect—with the wild, the sacred, and the real.
Bring curiosity. Bring your camera. Leave the noise behind.

High Alpine Caravan Driving Tours

This isn't your average scenic drive—this is a deep dive into the raw, untamed soul of Western and Northern New Mexico.

Born from bloodlines that run through this land and stories etched into its canyons and peaks, The Reroot Project was built to take you beyond the brochure. We're not here to check boxes—we're here to crack open the hidden layers of this place and let the land speak for itself.

Half-day or full-day, every tour punches through the surface. Think sacred places, unmarked roads, and ancestral echoes you won’t find on Google Maps. Guided by generations of lived experience, we don’t just show you New Mexico—we show you how to feel it.

This is a way of seeing. A way of moving through the world that respects the old ways, the wild spaces, and the stories that still breathe in the wind.

Ready to ride? The road’s waiting—and it doesn’t lead where you think.

Ready to Chase the Wild?

If you’ve got a thirst for dirt, sweat, and soul-stirring views, you’re in the right place.

I’m hitting the trail—not just to hike, but to explore, push limits, and uncover the kind of wild beauty that hides in plain sight. These aren’t your average strolls through the park. Every trail brings its own challenge, with terrain that gets rougher and views that get wilder the deeper we go. Along the way, I’m identifying plants, herbs, and fungi, learning what heals and what harms, what thrives in the shadows and what clings to the sun. I’m also tracking wild animal footprints, reading the quiet signs of movement most people miss. Out here, the trail isn’t just a path—it’s a story, and I’m learning to read every line of it.

Check the intensity levels—some of these treks will test you. But if you’re game, gear up.

Boots on. Pack loaded. Let’s go find what’s out there.

Let’s Go Fishing

I grew up on the rivers and mountain streams of Northern New Mexico, I’ve spent years learning the craft—gathering wisdom from seasoned pros, family elders, and long days on the water.

I was raised on the legendary San Juan and Chama Rivers, exploring countless hidden streams and creeks throughout the Jemez Mountains. These waters have shaped my love for the sport and continue to teach me something new every time I return.

Whether you're just starting out or looking for a fresh spot to cast your line, I’d be honored to help you find your next great catch.

Escape with Us—On the Water

Out here, it’s just you, the board, and nature.

There’s a kind of peace you can’t fake—only found where the roads end and the water begins. That’s where we go. My wife and I have spent years chasing these hidden waterways across the Southwest—remote, raw, and absolutely worth the effort.

We’re not about the tourist spots or the Instagram scenes. Every trip is handpicked, tested, and trusted. Most are great for all levels, but they still carry that edge of adventure.

This is paddleboarding stripped down: no noise, no rush, no distractions. Just open water, wide skies, and the silence you didn’t know you needed.

Note: These are bring-your-own-gear adventures. We’re not outfitters—we’re fellow explorers sharing the places we love most.

Come drift with us—far from the crowds, deep into the wild.

  • Why Choose a Tour Guide?

Selecting a professional tour guide offers the convenience of a well-organized itinerary, along with access to in-depth local knowledge, historical context, and insider tips that significantly enrich your travel experience. Tour guides also enhance safety, assist with problem-solving, bridge language or cultural gaps, and often provide access to hidden gems and exclusive local opportunities that independent travelers might overlook.

  • Travel Logistics & Considerations
