Join the Adventure
A couple of times each month, during the new moon or full moon, we'll explore the trails of the Sandia Mountains, enjoying fresh air, breathtaking views, and rewarding challenges.
Our hikes aren't about speed or competition—they're about getting outside, building strength and confidence, and sharing the experience with others who love the mountains. Whether you're looking to improve your fitness or simply spend more time in nature, you're welcome to join us.
Before You Join: Many of our hikes are rated difficult and include steep climbs, rocky terrain, high elevation, and several hours on the trail. Please choose hikes that match your fitness and experience level, and come prepared with plenty of water, sturdy hiking shoes, and the essential gear for a safe day outdoors.
Come ready for adventure—we'll see you on the trail.
These items should always be on your hiking checklist:
Hiking pack
Weather-appropriate clothing (think moisture-wicking and layers - sweater or long sleeve top for warmth at higher elevation)
Hiking footwear
Plenty of food (energy bars, trail mix, jerky, ect…)
Plenty of water (1 liter minimum)
Hat or bucket cap
Knife or multi-tool
Sunscreen (should be wearing it)
Tweezers / forceps
First-aid kit
Watch for Cactus: Desert trails often pass through areas with prickly pear, cholla, and other cacti. Stay on the trail whenever possible, avoid brushing against vegetation, and give cacti plenty of space. A moment of inattention can result in painful spines or barbed segments that are difficult to remove.
If you wanna be cool, bring a small trash bag to fill up and pack out and together we can do our part in keeping our wild places clean.

Every hike is different, so there's no set distance or summit to reach. The goal is simply to get outside and enjoy the mountains. Most hikes are out-and-back routes, with a few loops mixed in.
As we hike together, we'll build strength, confidence, and trail skills along the way. While I'm not an expert, I've spent years exploring these mountains and enjoy sharing the places I call home.
These hikes are free to join. My goal is to build a community of like-minded adventurers who love exploring the outdoors, challenging themselves, and sharing great experiences in the mountains.
